I would like to personally welcome you to my home on the web. The flow of technology as an integral part of my life began when I was 10 years old and my parents purchased for me an IBM PC. Little did they know at the time that this computer thing would turn out to be something big. I certainly did not know at the time that it would be my career path.
Fast forward some twenty years later now and I find that I have amassed such a gathering of knowledge, family, and friends that I can’t help but share some of those experiences with everyone. One of my closest friends refers to me jokingly as the “renaissance man” from my many exploits and hobbies.
Being a well rounded person and good to all people has always been a goal of mine. I attempt to blend my work in technology with my life’s pursuits for the betterment of everyone around me and the companies I work for. My current area of long term interest has to do with the interaction of technology in our lives and where it may take our home and work paths in the future.
As for those paths, mine has connected me with my wonderful wife Andrea and our four cats, Hunter, Magnolia, Ville, and Vesa. We recently celebrated the birth of our first child, Valerie. After living in Portland, Oregon for nine years, we relocated to Austin, Texas in the spring of 2011.
I am a fanatical technologist with most of my experience in the system administration and architecture for corporate information technology needs. On my off days you will find me working around the home, flying a plane, riding motorcycles, reading, travelling, or learning some new hobby.
This blog and website is intended to share with the world those experiences and observations. From the deeply technical when I will post about my daily work or research to the lighter side of my life with vacations and hobbies. I hope you enjoy the content and feel free to contact me with your observations.
